Research & Development

UKCM significantly invests in the research and development of new innovative services at its dedicated plant in Cheshire.

Its technical team has devised a range of cost-effective solutions which ensures containers withstand the test of time in any environment, increasing the value of each unit and bringing them back to full working order.

beef up your bins

UKCM will beef up your bins by fitting reinforcing plates to the castor bracket areas and bash plates to the corner of the panels, which will help avoid the corner floor areas buckling and also prevent structural damage thus allowing containers to be manoeuvred easily.

The expert team can even replace comb bars on steel containers that have suffered damage to the lifting point and soon will be able to fit comb bar protectors to plastic units.

CRoss-Contamination

UKCM is also able to modify containers and help prevent cross-contamination by fitting Perspex viewing windows or mesh side panels. Designed for the storage and collection of dry mixed recyclables, this allows operatives and the public to easily identify any wrongly placed waste.

Safe & Secure

UKCM proactively encourages customers to keep containers locked when they’re located in public areas in order to prevent people accessing them unnecessarily or taking shelter in them.

The company offers a wide range of locks suited for all containers and particularly favour these options:

Press2Lock

This lock is designed not to lock unintentionally when the lid shuts by mistake, reducing the risk of people, or animals, getting shut in. It is also prevents the cross contamination of recyclables and also incorporates an instruction plate that glows in the dark to help users at night.

New Forest Lock

A padlock is used to prevent unauthorised entry. New forest locks are cost effective and straightforward to fit, and by using these it also means operators will have to leave the vehicle to take off the lock and visually check that there is no one inside the container.

‘Lid in Lid’

Another worthwhile consideration for container lids is a ‘Lid in Lid’ option, which is ideal for ensuring large items are not being incorrectly disposed of due to the small aperture of the second lid - this is very ideal for areas where it common for rough sleepers to take shelter.
